Aid given to Vijayawada fire victims

VIJAYAWADA: Secondary education minister Kolusu Parthasarathi who visited NTR Nagar on Wednesday, distributed Rs 8,000 and 25 kg of rice to each family whose hut was destroyed in a major fire on Tuesday. Revenue officials who assessed the loss in the fire mishap, put the number of huts gutted at 83.  The minister promised to strive to get pucca houses allotted to the fire victims.Vijayawada East MLA Yalamanchali Ravi distributed kitchen utensils, bedsheets and other household things provided by the Indian Red Cross Society to the fire victims. Each affected family got household things worth Rs 3,000. Indian Red Cross Society district president Sridhar Reddy and treasurer Illa Ravi were also present.
