Take a Live Photo

Open the Camera app. The Camera app has a grey icon with an image of a camera.

Tap the Live button. The Live button is the button with several rings gradually fading out from the center. It's located at the top of the screen in the center. When the button is yellow, Live Photo is on.

Tap the shutter button. The shutter button is the large round white button at the bottom-center of the screen. This will take a photo with the Live Photo.

View a Live Photo

Open the Photos app. The photos app has an icon that resembles a colorful flower.

Select a live photo. Live photos have the icon with the fading rings in the upper-left corner of the image thumbnail. Live photos display brief motion before and after the image was taken.

Tap and hold on the photo. Long-press on the Live Photo to play the Live portion of the Live Photo. This will play the captured video that was captured before and after the photo was taken.
