ISL side Kerala Blasters FC named Mikael Stahre as their new head coach, as the Swede looks to replace fan favourite Ivan Vukomanovic, who stepped down from his role at the helm of the Tuskers at the end of the recently concluded season.
The 47-year-old penned a two year contract with the Kerala Blasters, who have an immense and vociferous following despite having not yet won the ISL title yet.
The side shared a post on their social media handle captioned, “A guiding light arrives! Mikael Stahre takes charge at Kerala Blasters”

Stahre said, “After some really inspiring & positive discussions with the management, I’m delighted to be joining Kerala Blasters – a fantastic privilege.”
“I am very proud to be able to continue my coaching career in Asia. I look forward to coming to India soon,” he said.
The Swede takes charge of the Kerala-based side after his one-year stint with Thai side Uthai Thani. The 47-year-old started his managerial career with Swedish side Vasby United, before taking up the role at AIK. He had further stints at Greek side Panionios, Chinese unit Dalian Yilfang, USA team San Jose Earthquakes, Norwegian outfit Sarpsborg and Swedish teams IFK Goteborg, and BK Hacken.
