Guru Randhawa BREAKS Silence on His Relationship Status: 'Weirdest Thing I Did for Love…' | Exclusive
Guru Randhawa reveals why he isn't very big on Valentine's Day. The singer also talks about the biggest deal-breaker for him in a relationship.

Guru Randhawa has time and again made headlines for his musical prowess. Having started his career in 2012, he has belted out chartbusters like Ban Ja Rani, High Rated Gabru and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui 2.0, and has become a force to reckon with in the indie music industry.

However, he has successfully kept details about his personal life under wraps. Last year, rumour mills were abuzz with the speculation that he is dating Shehnaaz Gill who he shared screen space with in a music video titled Sunrise. At a pre-release event of Thank You For Coming, Guru and Shehnaaz were seen posing on the red carpet with the paparazzi teasing them about their crackling chemistry. Guru and Shehnaaz never commented on the same and soon, the conjecture died down.

And now, ahead of the release of his debut acting venture, Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay, News18 Showsha exclusively catches up with the singing sensation, who clears the air and states that he’s single. However, he quickly adds that he’s open to the idea of falling in love. “I’m someone who’s always in love. Love is a beautiful feeling. Everyone should fall in love. I think that even if someone doesn’t love you back, it shouldn’t deter you from feeling for them. After all, even one-sided love is love,” he tells us.

So, while lovebirds will be spending the day celebrating love, Guru has a different take on Valentine’s Day. Prod him further and the Morni Banke singer says, “I don’t believe in dedicating one single day to the person I love. I don’t like waiting for one particular day to celebrate and express love. But I understand people who celebrate Valentine’s Day because they look at it as opportunity to make their better half or partner feel special. And since I’m single, I won’t celebrate Valentine’s Day but treat it as a day to reach out to people I love and request them to support me on this new journey [of being an actor].”

Looking back at his teenage days, he shyly reveals that he had a special someone through his school and college life. “I’ve had college crushes. Mere paas bhi aakhein hai aur dil hai (laughs). Much like everyone else, I had a special someone in college and even in school, there was a girl my eyes would keep searching for. In fact, my first date was on a bus on my way home from college,” chuckles Guru, who reveals having a big crush on Kareena Kapoor Khan.

So, what would be his biggest deal breaker in a relationship? “It would be infidelity for me. And let me tell you something, the weirdest thing I did for love is that I left the person I loved,” remarks the 32-year-old, adding that the most romantic thing he wants to do with his partner is watching a love story with her.
