The Vaishali district in Bihar is honouring the outstanding achievements of two of its women educators, Anuradha Kumari and Mamta Kumari, who received the renowned Inspiring India in Research, Innovation, and STEM Education (iRISE) ‘iRISE Recognition Award 2024’. This honour is noteworthy for both the district and the larger educational community.

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, hosted the award presentation at the Dashrath Manjhi Labour Skill Development Center in Patna. The award was given to 13 teachers from Bihar in total for their exceptional contributions to scientific research and teaching.

Mamta Kumari, a teacher at Upkramit Madhya Vidyalaya Asadnagar Batraul in Lalganj, was surprised and delighted to receive the honour. She stated that she had never anticipated to be recognised on such a large scale and expressed how pleased she and her family were with the accomplishment.

Anuradha Kumari, a teacher at Higher Secondary School Chehra Kalan, was overwhelmed with emotions when she learnt of herself receiving the award. She reminisced on the difficulties she endured during her studies and highlighted how important it was to achieve this milestone. She stated that her family and coworkers are thrilled with the honour, and she has received countless congratulatory messages from well-wishers.

The district education officer for Vaishali, Virendra Narayan, also expressed his joy and delight at these two committed teachers receiving national recognition. He stated that this success offers enormous delight not only to the district, but also to the whole education division. He urged other teachers to continue working hard so that they, too, could potentially be recognised on a national level.

Meanwhile, President Draupadi Murmu will present the National Teachers Award 2024 to up to 50 educators nationwide today on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. The ceremony will begin at 4:15 pm in New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhavan. In addition to a certificate and silver medal, the teachers will get a monetary prize of Rs 50,000. The goal of the National Award to Teachers 2024 in Higher Educational Institutions is to recognise the outstanding accomplishments of some of India’s greatest faculty members and to celebrate their efforts in making a difference in the lives of students and improving the quality of education.
