The United States of America is set to play host to the ICC T20 World Cup for the first time in history. It will no doubt help in boosting the popularity of cricket in the country. The USA shares the hosting rights with the West Indies where the T20 World Cup was held earlier in 2010. This time, the mega event will be inaugurated at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas on June 2. The opening game will see co-hosts USA take on Canada in a Group A fixture. The West Indies, who have been pooled in Group C, will also open their campaign on the same day. The Caribbean unit will square off against Papua New Guinea at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
The ninth edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup will feature a total of twenty teams which have been divided into four groups. The league stage will be played in a single round-robin format and the top two sides of each group will punch their tickets to the Super Eight round. Including the group-league games and knockouts, a total of 55 matches will take place during a period of 29 days.
All matches of Group A and a few of Group D will be held across three stadiums in the USA. The remaining league fixtures as well as the Super Eight games, semi-finals and final will take place in the West Indies. A total of 29 matches will be held across six venues in the Caribbean while the USA will host 16 group-league games.

Guyana National Stadium– 6 matches including one semi-final

Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and Barbuda– 8 matches
Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in Saint Lucia– 6 matches
Arnos Vale Ground in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines– 5 matches
Venues in the USA:
Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Texas– 4 matches including the USA vs Canada inaugural game
Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York– 8 matches including India vs Pakistan
Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Florida– 4 matches
The 2024 T20 World Cup will be wrapped up with the final game on June 29.
