Ever since the Pran Pratishtha of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, flight connectivity to the city has been increasing rapidly.
To further boost air connectivity, the Ministry of Civil Aviation is set to launch 8 new SpiceJet flight routes for Ayodhya from February 1.
The new flight routes will connect Ayodhya with Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Patna, Darbhanga, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
The flight services will be inaugurated by Union Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel Jyotiraditya Scindia and SpiceJet will operate on these routes as per the following schedule:
Lately, the Ayodhya airport handled around 100 chartered flights as many people flew into the city to attend the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple. Around 8,000 people were invited to the consecration ceremony.
Business Aircraft Operators Association (BAOA) President Captain R K Bali told news agency, PTI that 100 chartered flights were booked by various individuals and entities to Ayodhya for January 22, and out of them, around 50 were business jets.
Last week, SpiceJet announced a special flight from Delhi to Ayodhya on January 21, 2024, catering to passengers attending the auspicious ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Shri Ram Temple on January 22. The airline also operated a return flight on the same day to ensure a seamless travel experience for devotees.
