NXT action returned to the WWE on January 16, airing live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The night was packed with a ton of wrestling action with two advertised Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic matches, a women’s tag team match and a huge 20-women Battle Royal.
The main event would decide the top contender for Lyra Valkyria’s NXT Women’s Championship. That match would see women stars like Roxanne Perez, Fallon Henly, Gigi Dolin, Blair Davenport and Kiana James compete. The night also saw Ridge Holland take on Joe Coffey in a one-on-one match and Dijak competing against Trey Bearhill in one-on-one action.
These are the results of all the fights on the latest episode of WWE NXT:
Dusty Classic – Trick Melo Gang vs Edris Enofe and Malik Blade
The match begins with Hayes and Blade starting the action. After some back-and-forth hits, Hayes takes a spine-buster from Blade who then mounts the top rope and hits a splash. Williams does not let Blade capitalise by breaking the pinfall attempt. Enofe then dumps him out of the ring before taking a right hand. While in the ring, Hayes delivers a codebreaker to Blade. Next, Williams tags in and runs over an exhausted blade for a victory.
Lyra Valkyria and Tatum Paxley vs Lola Vice and Elkra Lopez
Valkyria and Lopez start the action in the women’s tag team match. Soon, Vice tags in and then delivers a double clothesline to both Paxley and Lopez. Later, Vice and Valkyria begin brawling after which the former prepares to land a kick on Valkyria. However, Paxley takes the hit, which then lands on top of Lopez to pin her for the win.
Ridge Holland vs Joe Coffey
Holland and Coffey lock up right as the bell rings and then exchange forearms. Later in the match, Holland delivers a pair of knees to Coffey’s midsection and a headbutt. Holland gets him up on his shoulders and sends him crashing into the top rope face first before landing a bodyslam for a pinfall victory.
Dusty Classic – LWO vs Chase U
The second Dusty classic match on the night began with Osborne and Del Toro starting the action. After a commercial break, Wilde delivers a tilt-a-whirl gutbuster to Osborne and tags in Del Toro. Soon, Hudson levels Del Toro and then pins him but remains unaware that Wilde was the legal wrestler. Wilde then goes flying to level both Hudson and Osborne. Del Toro tags in and goes to the top rope. He then hits the 450 splash for a pinfall victory.
Dijak vs Trey Bearhill
As the bell rings Dijak tries to land a boot on Bearhill who counters and delivers a back body drop. Dijak soon lands a suplex onto Bearhill before following up with an elbow drop. Bearhill then recovers and delivers a double chop before following up with a cross-body. However, in the end, Dijak manages to land a boot to win by pinfall.
20 Woman Number One Contender Battle Royal
After some wild battle royal action, the final four emerged to be Roxanne Perez, Fallon Henley, Kiana James and Kelani Jordan. They then competed in a match that saw Perez steal a three-count win by pinning Jordan. The match ended with Lyra Valkyria arriving to stare down her next challenger.
