Fire broke out in a Japan Airlines (JAL) plane on the runway at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, following a collision with a Japan Coast Guard aircraft on Tuesday. Five crew members were found dead on the Coast Guard plane, while all 379 people on board aboard the JAL flight were safely evacuated.
The incident, captured by cameras, showed the aircraft engulfed in fire as it moved along the tarmac. The footage showed orange flames coming out of the windows of the aeroplane as rescue workers sprayed it. Visuals from inside the smoke-filled cabin showed panic-stricken passengers covering their mouths with clothes and shouting for help.

The flight had arrived from Japan’s Shin-Chitose Airport on the northern island of Hokkaido.
The emergency crews responded swiftly to the situation and worked diligently to extinguish the blaze. Over 70 fire engines were deployed to bring the fire under control. As per reports, the airport has been closed to traffic.
