'Who Sends Google Forms?': Cricket Fans Apply For India's Head Coach After BCCI Opens Applications
As BCCI invites applications for the post of Indian cricket team's coach, fans can't stop spamming it with their hilarious responses.

The search for Team India’s next head coach ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup is on. While big names like VVS Laxman and Anil Kumble are in the mix, regular cricket fans are getting a shot at the spotlight by applying for the job of coaching the men’s senior cricket team. Surprising, isn’t it? Just after the BCCI put out a call for applicants from all corners of the country, cricket fans have gone wild, flooding the open-to-all Google Forms faster than a sixer in the last over.

Social media is flooded with screenshots of form submissions, peppered with witty remarks as fans dream of donning the coaching cap. “Submitted my application, cannot wait to coach Team India,” chuckled one hopeful applicant. “Submitted my application form. Hopefully under my expert coaching and guidance, India lifts the 2027 World Cup in South Africa,” chimed in another optimist, while a third exclaimed, “Just applied for head coach of Indian team. Wish me luck. P.S: who tf invites job applications via google forms.”

The fourth declared, “I just applied for the India head coach position! Wish me luck and love. If I get the job, I promise we’ll win the CT, World Cup, T20I WC, WTC, and beat Australia in every final. Plus, I’ll make sure our fans get free biryani and burgers after every tournament win and mandatory dance-offs after final wins.”

Meanwhile, according to the BCCI’s announcement, the deadline for applications is May 27, 2024. “The selection process will include a thorough review of applications, followed by personal interviews and assessments of shortlisted candidates,” the BCCI revealed. Plus, the ideal candidate should be “willing to meet work expectations and pressures associated with handling marquee athletes.”
