Watch: Wildlife Photographer's Hilarious Reaction To Alligators Blocking His Cycling Route

Criminal attorney and wildlife photographer Walt Jenkins stumbled upon a nerve-wracking scene while he was on a bike ride through the swampy trails of South Florida. As he was navigating his way through the trials, Jenkins came across two huge alligators blocking his way. However, his reaction was surprising. Instead of retreating in fear, Jenkins appeared calm and nonchalant, recognising that the massive reptiles were, surprisingly, in a “lazy mood.”

He was heard saying, “so, this should be fun,” which was captured on video and later shared on his Instagram.

In the footage, Jenkins appeared composed as he came across the reptiles while trying to navigate his way back to his car. Reflecting on the encounter, Jenkins explained in the caption that “It was Alligator mating season, so the big male was my biggest concern.” However, after successfully coaxing the female to move and carefully noting that the male was calm, he quickly took the opportunity to pass by safely, avoiding any potential dangers. “I did not want him getting up when my bike was next to him because they have very powerful tail whips,” he wrote.

Despite the inherent risks, Jenkins’s calculated approach and respect for the animals’ behaviour made sure of a safe outcome as he made his way back to his car. He concluded, “I am a wildlife photographer, so this level of wildness is exactly why I was out there but the Alligators weren’t actually the animals I was searching for that day.”

The video has gone viral with over 2.5 lakh views. Users have been left astounded by Jenkins’ cool-headed response to the presence of the alligators which made his video a viral sensation.
