A recent revelation stunned online users when a New York Best-Seller author, Chelsea M. Cameron from the USA, took to her social media to share a classic tale of truancy at the workplace. She revealed how two employees at her local bank branch worked half-days for a decade. The post has come as a shock to everyone on the internet, as it took almost ten years for anyone to notice what was happening. The author has revealed that this happened because they were the only two employees working at the branch, and the management never noticed that they were leaving earlier than their shifts.
The post was shared by Chelsea M. Cameron on X (formerly Twitter). In the post, she highlighted their cleverness and the management’s inability to catch them for ten long years. She wrote, “Sometimes I think about the two women who were the only employees at one of our bank branches and for nearly TEN YEARS had been working half days and clocking each other out and no one noticed. They got fired eventually, but honestly? That’s on the bank.” She also revealed that in order to make the deception successful, the first woman who used to leave after a half day never used to clock out, and the second woman used to clock her out when it was actually time for her to end the shift. They continued doing this for ten years. Finally, the management caught them, and they both were fired.

After the post was uploaded, it instantly went viral on social media. Many people went to the comments section to share their stories where they had a lot of fun on their job as well. One of the users wrote, “Not the same, but my first job was at Quiznos (RIP). I was hired one day after two young Spanish dudes bought it. I lived 5 minutes down the street and would come in to open my PJs and slippers. Change before I unlock the door. They’d let me come in and make sandwiches anytime.” Another commented, “My bank job was one of the lowest-paying I ever had, but also the most fun and our manager was the best ever. (We spent a tonne of time playing cards, I learned how to knit, I’d blast the radio while counting money in the vault and ATM house.)”
So far, the viral post has amassed 1.9 million views on X.
