'Simplicity Personified': Social Media Reacts To Rahul Dravid Waiting In Queue To Cast His Vote
Rahul Dravid has been following the ongoing IPL to finalise the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Team India head coach Rahul Dravid cast his vote on Friday in Bengaluru. Despite being hugely popular among a crazy fandom, Dravid was seen standing in the queue along with local people in Dollar’s Colony, which comes under the Bengaluru North constituency. In a video, now going viral on social media, the former Indian captain was seen waiting for his turn to vote. He had opted for a casual, blue polo t-shirt and shorts.

Eighty-eight seats across 13 states are voting in the second round of the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections.

Referring to Rahul Dravid’s simplicity and humble nature, a fan shared a video on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, “My man casually went out in shorts to vote, like any other common man. Who would believe this man is the coach of the Indian cricket team?”

The post grabbed the eyeballs of many cricket enthusiasts, who shared their thoughts in the comments. One of them was quick to admit, “The reason I admire him more than Sachin sir.”

Another user commented, “It’s so cool to see someone in such a high position keeping it real and down-to-earth. Simplicity does radiate the coolest kind of vibes.”

A fan reckoned that Rahul Dravid is someone who has personified simplicity.

Here are some other notable reactions:

After coming out of the voting booth, Rahul Dravid sent out a powerful message for the youth of India. During an interaction with India Today, the 51-year-old said, “This is an opportunity for all of us to celebrate our democracy and participate in it. The Police have done a great job, the arrangements are fantastic. I hope that Bengaluru creates a record in terms of voter turnout. Everyone should come out, you, the media should send out a message to the public so that adequate discussion is done on this so that they can come out in large numbers.”

With no international assignment, Rahul Dravid is currently busy finalising the squad for the upcoming mega event, the T20 World Cup, which will be hosted in the West Indies and the United States of America in June this year. Dravid and the selectors have kept their eyes on the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The performance in the IPL is expected to be given utmost importance while picking players for the T20 World Cup squad.
