Stepping in at No. 6 when hope seemed dim, the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman unleashed a blistering onslaught, single-handedly reviving RCB’s chances. His remarkable innings of 83 runs off just 35 deliveries, although cut short by T Natarajan in the penultimate over, injected a much-needed dose of hope into the home side. And, as he bid farewell to the crease, the crowd rose to their feet, honouring his remarkable display with a standing ovation.

Everyone knew they were gonna lose, but Karthik’s valiant attempt at a comeback injected a thrilling dose of suspense into the match.
