Man Riding Bike In ‘Auto-Pilot’ Mode Is 'It Happens Only In India' Moment
Reacting to the viral video, an Instagram user wrote, “People who think this is swag are a real problem of India.”

In a departure from the usual association of stunts with adventure-seeking youngsters, a viral video is raking in likes that shows an elderly man sitting on a bike without steering its handle. The man sits on the bike with both legs on one side and poses as if he is casually lounging on a bench. All this while, the bike moves at a moderate pace on a fairly busy road. This clip was reportedly taken on the Patiala-Samana road in Punjab.

Since being posted on January 26, the video has amassed over one lakh likes on Instagram. While some social media users found the stunt amusing and couldn’t stop laughing, others raised concerns about the potential dangers associated with such a stunt.

Commenting on it, an Instagram user joked, “Elon Musk copied Tesla’s technology from him.” Another person wrote, “Different level skill required to pull this off!”

Many people also criticised the bike rider for indulging in such dangerous behaviour that not only risked his life but also posed a risk to other commuters. An Instagram user remarked, “People who think this is swag are real problem of India.”

Demanding action against the biker, someone else wrote, “Such people should be challenged and if caught again out, especially on highways the driving license should be cancelled.”

“Punjab Police wants to know their location,” said an Instagram user.

In recent years, law enforcement agencies have started taking action against people who perform illegal stunts. In November last year, the Tamil Nadu police arrested a man after he posted a video of himself performing bike stunts such as doing a wheelie after attaching firecrackers on his bike. Once this video went viral, the police managed to find the bike owner and registered a case against him.

In December 2022, Nagaland Minister Temjen Imna Along shared a video on X that showed an old man freely riding a bicycle in the rain. In the video, the man was not wearing a helmet and was periodically removing his hands from the handlebars.

Along indirectly promoted these actions as he wrote in Hindi, “There is no age to live life openly…..Age is just a number indeed !”

Commenting on it, an X user criticised the cyclist and wrote, “He got skill, just that it’s not safe and advisable to do it on the roads of our country. We are so overpopulated, that i feel if you try to throw a stone in a jungle, chances are it will find a human not a tree.”
