The fourth phase of Lok Sabha Election 2024 kicked off today, on May 13, starting at 7 AM. Across 10 states and Union Territories, 96 Lok Sabha Constituencies are participating in the process. Social media feeds are filled with images and videos capturing the election excitement among voters from various polling locations. One particular polling station in Kodangal, Telangana, has caught everyone’s attention for its unique atmosphere. Voters arriving at the station were pleasantly surprised to be greeted with open arms as if they were stepping into a wedding celebration. Reports suggest that this unconventional setup was created to attract voters and ensure maximum crowd.
The wedding-themed polling station left voters excited and the footage shows them entering the premises with smile on their faces. In the video circulating online, voters are shown entering the polling station, while a volunteer distributes various kinds of flowers to each person. Just like an actual wedding, the entrance is decorated with vibrant drapes, balloons and fresh plants, creating a cheerful atmosphere. Not only the entrance, but the polling rooms were also decorated with flowers, enhancing the voters experience.

During the Lok Sabha 2024 election’s second phase, a groom from Amravati, Maharashtra, made headlines by voting with his family before his wedding. Similarly, in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, during the first phase, a bride and groom, accompanied by their entire wedding guests, were spotted giving their votes at the Buddhi polling booth. Another newlywed couple in Udhampur didn’t waste time either, as they voted right after their wedding ceremony.
The latest Lok Sabha election covers a major portion of India, as 25 seats up for grabs in Andhra Pradesh, 17 in Telangana and several others distributed across states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar. 17.7 Crore voters are eligible to cast their votes.
This phase of elections is seeing a tough competition as over 1,717 candidates are competing for victory. Popular contenders include Union Minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh in Baharampur, SP’s Akhilesh Yadav in Kannauj, Congress’ Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary and TMC’s Mahua Moitra in Krishnanagar. Additionally, Union Minister and former CM of Jharkhand Arjun Munda is contesting from Khunti, while TMC’s Shatrughan Sinha is standing from Asansol.
