In a horrific incident, a shocking case of the disappearance of a dynamic female swimmer has come to light. A woman named Christine Armstrong was swimming in the sea in Australia with her friends when she suddenly disappeared, and her group didn’t even notice until they reached the shore.
Their fears were confirmed when the next day, her glasses-like belongings were found on the shore, and it was understood that she had been caught by a shark while swimming and did not even get a chance to scream.
As per reports, the 13-foot-tall giant animal silently swallowed the 63-year-old woman. Her group didn’t even realise that she was gone until they returned. The only sign of the shark’s deadly presence was a flock of birds above the surface, drawing attention to the shark’s fin emerging from the water towards them.
But the friends with her believed that Christine must have already returned to dry land. The rest of the group gathered together on the shore. Embracing the beach, they heaved a sigh of relief that they had escaped the close encounter. But they had no idea about Christine. But unable to find her, it was only then that they realised her terrible fate. Their fears were confirmed when traces of human remains were found on her goggles and swimming cap the next day.
After the shocking tragedy, her husband Rob (44) admitted that she was consumed completely as the group had gathered for their regular morning swim between Tathra Wharf and Tathra Beach, more than 200 miles south of Sydney, Australia.
Earlier, this area was a popular fishing spot, which also included shark hunting. This harrowing story from 2014 was retold by FIERCE in a video and posted on YouTube earlier this week, which received more than 14,000 views and tons of comments in just 11 hours.
One of the users said, “A horrible nightmare to think of being swallowed whole into the dark anatomy of a 13-foot shark. I imagine she was most likely conscious, if for only a matter of moments when the shark swam away.”
