An Andhra doctor’s quick actions saved the life of a 6-year-old boy who was electrocuted in Ayyappa Nagar, Vijayawada. The boy’s frantic parents were carrying him along the road when he suddenly went into cardiac arrest. Dr. Ravalika, who happened to be passing by, noticed the distress and sprang into action.
She performed CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) on the boy right there on the road. A video shows the doctor continuously thumping the boy’s chest while he lay lifeless, trying to revive him as passersby cleared the road to let the CPR proceed amidst the crowd.

After several attempts, the doctor successfully revived the 6-year-old. After five tense minutes, the boy began breathing again. He was then rushed to a hospital for further treatment and has since made a full recovery.

Dr. Ravalika’s quick and vigilant actions have earned her widespread acclaim and gratitude from the community. The boy’s parents expressed their profound gratitude for Dr. Ravalika’s life-saving intervention, and the internet was also full of praises for her.
“Kudos to the doctor. My thesis was on electric burn and the success rate of revival using CPR outside hospital is less than 10% hence makes this case even more remarkable,” commented one doctor. “Heartfelt salute to the doctor,” said another. “Praise God for the doctor and presence of mind to administer CPR. Every one should get trained in India to administer CPR,” came another comment.
Meanwhile, in the midst of the second phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Dr. Ganesh Srinivasa Prasad, a dedicated doctor from Bengaluru, demonstrated such remarkable readiness at a polling booth on April 26. While patiently waiting in line with numerous others at the government school in Jumbo Savari Dinne, JP Nagar, Dr. Prasad, a nephrologist and transplant physician, sprang into action as a woman collapsed before him. Without hesitation, he swiftly administered CPR, embodying the essence of quick thinking and medical proficiency. Later, Dr. Prasad shared this impactful incident on the microblogging platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), inspiring many with his prompt and selfless response.
