The first product to use Intel's tiny Curie chip will be a development board called Arduino 101, reports PC World.
The Curie chip module, intended for wearables like smart pendants or bracelets, was introduced in January but it was unclear which products would start using it first.
The Arduino 101, which will be named Genuino 101 outside of the US, is primarily aimed at educational environments. The development board will help foster interest in programming, electronics and coding.
Intel's development board, at just 7 cm long and 5.5 cm wide, will retail for US$30 or 27 euros. It will go on sale in the first quarter of next year.
