Google Doodle is celebrating the 105th anniversary of Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen who reached the South Pole along with around 100 dogs and a group of people in December 1911. According to Google, the Doodle on this day depicts the winds in the Antarctic swirling past the tents of the explorers after they reached the South Pole.

Having studied medicine in his youth, Roald began travelling when he was 25 when he boarded a boat from Belgium to the Antarctic.
He visited the northern coast of Canada and Alaska before he decided to breach one of the final frontiers of exploration.
Meanwhile, Google's blog stated that Roald Amundsen's party managed to cope with the conditions and pass the time on the journey by telling stories, holding guess-the-temperature contests and celebrating birthdays.Read more: Cuba Signs Deal With Google For Faster Access to Google Content
