New Delhi: After hiring engineering leader Punit Soni from Google, Flipkart has again roped in another resource from the search giant to add to its commerce division.
Peeyush Ranjan, a senior engineering director at Google, is all set to join the e-commerce giant in May in a key role.
Ranjan is an alumni of Vikas Vidyalaya, Ranchi and Birla Public School, Pilani. He attained his B.Tech degree in Computer Science from IIT Kharagpur in 1995 and went on to study MS from Purdue University, USA. He is also an MBA holder from the University of Washington.
He has been VP Engineering at Motorola and VP of Product at Gogomo Inc, and holds prior experience of working with Microsoft and Infospace.
This is the second defection of a crucial resource to Flipkart that Google has seen in the recent time.
While Punit Soni is expected to join Flipkart this month as the chief product officer in the commerce division, Ranjan will join the same division led by Mukesh Bansal, CEO of fashion portal Myntra, a fashion portal that was acquired by Flipkart last year.
