South star Suriya is known for his versatility and extensive work in Tamil cinema. Currently, he is gearing up to lead in the forthcoming fantasy action film titled Kanguva: A Mighty Valiant Saga. Anticipation for the movie has been high. Recently, the makers unveiled its first teaser. Now, according to reports, the film might receive an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board as it contains some violent content. Directed by Siruthai Siva, the film revolves around a story set across two different periods: one in 1700 AD and the other in the present day.
Kanguva also stars Disha Patani and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles. In the film, Bobby Deol is set to play an antagonist who will lock horns with Suriya.
Penned by Adi Narayana, Kanguva is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja, V Vamsi Krishna Reddy, and Pramod Uppalapati under the banner of Studio Green and UV Creations. With music composed by Devi Sri Prasad, the cinematography of the film is handled by Vetri Palanisamy.
The teaser for Kanguva generated considerable buzz due to its depiction of violence and intense action scenes. Fans are excited about the movie, especially since Bobby Deol – who has marked his niche for villainous roles – is joining the cast.
Reports suggest that Kanguva has been made on a significant budget, and fans are eagerly awaiting its release in theatres later this year. Amazon Prime Video has secured the online streaming rights of Kanguva for a whopping price of over Rs 100 crore.
Kanguva is set to release in 10 different Indian languages. Its post-theatrical streaming rights were sold for the highest price ever paid for a Suriya film.
Suriya was last seen in Vikram. He has several films lined up for release including Rolex, Karna, Vaadivaasal, an untitled film with Boyapati Srinu, and Irumbu Kai Maayavi among others. Meanwhile, Bobby Deol is packed with much-anticipated films such as Penthouse, Apne 2, Desi Sherlock Holmes, Shootout at Byculla, and Hari Hara Veera Mallu to name a few.
