Meet Buster, The Black Dog Who Turned Completely White Due To Rare Medical Condition

A very common condition that causes the skin to lose its natural pigment and turn pale white, vitiligo not only affects humans but also animals, including dogs. While it may make your furry friends look a bit funny with patches of white skin and fur, there is no need to worry, as vitiligo is completely painless and won’t usually bother them. One such instance took place with an adorable four-year-old dog named Buster. Living in Oklahoma, the dog, as a result of his vitiligo, has gone through a major transformation, changing from black to completely white.

Pictures of the pup are going viral on social media, showing his incredible colour-changing transformation in just two and a half years. Shared by his owner, Matt Smith, the post says, “My boy Buster (4yo) has completely changed from black to white over the course of the last 2.5 years.” He further explained that Buster has vitiligo, which causes the depigmentation of his skin and fur.

The post includes various pictures of Buster and the colour changes in his fur. From completely black to embracing a shining white layer, even in this condition, the dog looks adorably gorgeous in his new fur coat, shining radiantly. In the meantime, fellow Reddit users were left amazed by the pictures of the dog.

According to a Daily Mail report, Smith initially started noticing a few white patches near Buster’s mouth and chin in 2021, when he was only 2 before they started spreading over his face and body. “So there was a point in time where he was balding in areas until his fresh fluffy white fur grew in,” he said. Fascinated by his amazing transformation, Smith decided to document the changes and share them on social media.
