Jeep Compass Diesel 2WD Automatic India Launch on Sep 16, Details Inside
As per reports, the new Jeep Compass diesel 2WD automatic will cost around Rs 27 lakh on the road

Jeep plans to expand the Compass line-up by launching more affordable 2WD variants in the diesel fuel trim with an automatic transmission. The official price will be announced on Saturday, September 16. The entire Jeep Compass lineup will be revamped with new grille and alloy wheel designs, in addition to the introduction of new diesel 2WD automatic variants.

Currently, the Jeep Compass lineup in India only includes diesel engines, and automatic gearbox is only available in 4×4 models. Due to BS6 Stage II emission standards, the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine had to be phased out. As a result, the beginning price of the Compass increased, particularly for the automatic models, with prices now starting at more than Rs 29 lakh (ex-showroom). Because of this, it is at the costlier end of the scale, but it also fails to suit the different needs with a single engine and gearbox option.

Adding a more affordable 2WD model to the diesel-automatic lineup is undoubtedly a step that will improve SUV accessibility. This change will appeal to customers who want the ease of an automatic gearbox without the necessity for 4×4 hardware, making the Jeep Compass a much more enticing proposition for a broader spectrum of buyers.

Jeep Compass Variants in India

The new Compass will be available in five different trim levels namely – Sport, Limited, Longitude, Longitude+, and Model S. The Sport trim will remain the base model and will only be available with the diesel-manual powertrain. Following that, a new Compass Longitude grade will be offered, with both 2WD manual and 9-speed automatic transmission options, acting as the new entry point for the Compass automatic range.

As per reports, it will cost around Rs 27 lakh on the road, however, the full feature list for this trim is yet to be revealed. The Longitude+ trim comes next, featuring additional options like as a panoramic sunroof and a wireless charger in addition to all of the Longitude trim’s features. In addition, the Limited trim will include a new Black Shark version, which will have an all-black interior and black alloy wheels.

Finally, the Model S will remain at the top of the lineup, available in both 2WD automatic and existing 4WD automatic forms. All trims will also get updated alloy wheels, and the Limited and Model S will get a new chrome grille.

New Jeep Compass Bookings & Deliveries

Dealers across the country are currently taking unofficial reservations for the redesigned Jeep Compass, reports add. Meanwhile, deliveries are anticipated to begin at the end of this month or early next month. In terms of its pricing, expect it to reportedly start around Rs 27 lakhs. For the actual amount, though, will have to wait until the launch.
