Why Should Kejriwal Have More Privileges Than Predecessors: Cong
Being a Union Territory, Delhi is under the Central rule, and enjoys certain perks and privileges.

New Delhi: Responding to the High Court's verdict of Lieutenant Governor being the administrative head of the national capital, Delhi Congress said on Thursday Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should not get "special privileges" which his predecessors did not enjoy.

"Why should Kejriwal get any special treatment, special privileges and special dispensation which his predecessors did not enjoy? Rules that were applicable to his predecessors should apply to Kejriwal too," DPCC chief Ajay Maken was quoted as saying in a statement.

He said the High Court has only "put a stop" to Kejriwal's "demand for special treatment".

Further reacting on the AAP's response that Delhi government will approach the Supreme Court on the ruling, Maken said, "It would be a waste of public money as the AAP government would be paying hefty fees from the government coffers."

Being a Union Territory, Delhi is under the Central rule, and enjoys certain perks and privileges.

"Delhi will lose the perks and privileges when it becomes a full-fledged state, like other states", he claimed.

He said statehood of Delhi cannot be decided only by the people of Delhi, as it can be done only through a Constitutional amendment.
