138. Sohagpur is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Hoshangabad Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Sohagpur falls in Hoshangabad district and Mahakoshal region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,20,262 voters in the seat, which includes 1,17,332 male voters, and 1,02,923 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Sohagpur recorded a voter turnout of 82.13%. In 2013 the turnout was 83.83%, and in 2008 it was 73.28%.
In 2013, Vijaypal Singh of BJP won the seat by a margin of 28,891 votes (16.9%). Vijaypal Singh secured 54.33% of the total votes polled.
