New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was on Thursday elected to the Rajya Sabha once again from Assam. This is the fifth time he has been elected to the Upper House of Parliament.
PM Manmohan Singh got 49 votes.
The Congress's other candidate from Assam, Santius Kujur was also elected.
He said, "It is a very happy moment for us I got 45 votes whereas Dr Manmohan Singh ji got 49 votes. We have to a lot of work. Manmohan Singh ji has done a lot for our state and I am sure he will continue this."
