The Patidar community, which has been demanding reservation in Gujarat, has now taken their protest to the next level, by withdrawing money from banks.
The members of the community have started withdrawing money from banks in a bid to put pressure the state government to accept their demand for reservation. As part of the campaign called 'Withdraw Money', as much as Rs 26 lakh has been withdrawn from central cooperative bank.
Meanwhile, a meeting between Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and the representatives of the Patidar community, which has been agitating for reservation in government jobs, on Monday remained inconclusive.
This comes even as the leader of the Patidar community, Hardik Patel, decided to hold an 'Ekta Yatra' from September 19.
During the meeting with the Chief Minister on Monday, the leaders of the community were asked to approach the state OBC Commission over the demand of reservations under the OBC quota.
