The EC had issued notice to Salman Khurshid and his wife for the violation of model code of conduct.
New Delhi: Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid on Thursday said that he has not violated the model code of conduct by promising Muslim sub-quota as it's part of Congress manifesto.
"No new policy was announced. It was in consonance with the Congress policy and part of the party's manifesto," Khurshid said in his reply to the Election Commission.
The EC had issued notice to Khurshid and his wife, Louise who is a Congress candidate for the violation of model code of conduct, after the BJP complained calling the announcement unconstitutional.
