Subramanian Swamy also threatened to challenge her move to provide financial assistance to Christians.

New Delhi: Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday demanded that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa extend subsidy for travel of Hindus to Kailash and Manasarovar in Tibet on the lines of her assistance to Christians to take pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

Swamy also threatened to challenge her move to provide financial assistance to Christians if she did not announce a similar scheme for Hindus.

"If she fails to do, I will challenge in court and also sue Jayalalithaa for malfeasance in office. Tax money is not her private property to distribute as largess to secure her vote," he said in a statement.

Jayalalithaa had on Tuesday announced state government's financial assistance to Christians to take pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
