Ex-VP Shekhawat fighting for life in hospital
Shekhawat, 87, was admitted to the SMS Hospital on the night of May 13.

Jaipur: Former vice president Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was put on life support on Saturday, two days after he was admitted to a hospital in Jaipur.

"His condition has further deteriorated, following which he has been put on a ventilator," said Dr Ashok Pangaria, principal of the Swai Man Singh Hospital and College.

Shekhawat, 87, was admitted to the SMS Hospital on the night of May 13 after he complained of uneasiness and trouble in breathing. Doctors found he was suffering from lung and chest infection.

"We are keeping a close watch on his condition," said hospital superintendent Dr Narpat Singh.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former chief minister Vasundara Raje are among the people who have enquired about his health.
