Chhattisgarh: Levelling fresh allegations against the Bhartiya Janata Party, Congress has accused the Chhattisgarh government of involvement in a Rs 36,000 crore scam in the state.

Congress on Saturday, claimed of having a solid evidence against Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh and his wife in the alleged Nagrik Apurti scam. Congress said it had crucial evidence that it collected from four people accused in the scam.

"We are exposing a Rs 36,000 crore scam in Chhattisgarh which belittles all the other BJP scams. We have found solid evidences like diaries, pen drives and other documents by four people in this Nagrik Apurti scam," Maken said.

"The diaries reveal benefits for not only the Chief Minister, but his wife, sister in law, his cook and others. The moot point is that if there are diaries with the Chief Minister, his wife and his sister-in-law's names present, then why is no action being taken against them," he questioned.

Stepping up the attack on the BJP, Congress leader Ajay Maken also cited dairy entries that mentioned details of investments worth 16 crore in Delhi, Lucknow and Nagpur reach.

Throwing light on the scam, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) chief Ajay Maken on Saturday demanded the resignation of Raman Singh as CM for involvement in the Nagrik Apurti scam. He also demanded a Supreme Court monitored investigation by the SIT in this scam.

The allegations come at a time when the BJP is already facing the hear over the Vyapam Scam and Lalit Modi visa controversy.
