Srinagar: A day after Mehbooba Mufti was unanimously elected as the leader of the PDP legislature party, top leaders from the BJP and PDP are likely to meet Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra on Friday to stake claim to form government.
BJP's Ram Madhav and Jitendra Singh are meeting party legislators in Jammu and Kashmir.
The development comes just three days after Mehbooba met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital. The Prime Minister is said to have assured Mehbooba that alliance agenda will be followed. Mufti herself had described the meeting as productive and positive.
The PDP-BJP coalition, after 10 months rule from March 2015 to January, ran into rough weather following the death of then Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on January 7, after which the state came under Governor's rule.
Since then, the PDP leadership has sought confidence building measures and assurances on the implementation of the already agreed Agenda for Alliance from the Centre for forming the government again.
