BJP MLAs, rebel Congress to meet President; Uttarakhand CM likely to visit Delhi today
The Congress on Sunday moved all its MLAs to an undisclosed location in Ramnagar.

New Delhi: BJP MLAs from Uttarakhand along with the rebel Congress have sought time to meet President Pranab Mukherjee. This development comes ahead of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat's likely visit to the capital on Monday.

Uttarakhand Congress President on Monday dissolved district units in constituencies of rebel leaders.

BJP leader Ajay Bhatt (Leader of Opposition) said the President gave them time for 7 pm. "We'll request President that floor test be conducted on Tuesday as everyone will be present there", he said.

Rawat is likely to meet top Congress leaders in the capital. Meanwhile, in a bid to keep to keep its leaders together during this turmoil, the Congress moved all its MLAs to an undisclosed location in Ramnagar on Sunday. A rebel BJP leader, who was also suspended has also been moved.

BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh blamed the Congress for the current political scenario in Uttarakhand. "What is happening in Uttarakhand is Congress' own doing", he said.

On Sunday, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi hit out at Bharatiya Janata Party for the current political situation in Uttarakhand.

"Toppling elected governments by indulging in horse trading and blatant misuse of money and muscle, seems to be BJP's new model, after failure in Bihar", his official handle read.

"This attack on our democracy & Constitution, first in Arunachal & now Uttarakhand, is the true face of Modiji's BJP". Congress Party will fight demagoguery with democracy," Rahul said.
