Shivpuri: A BJP leader in Madhya Pradesh has said that he would break senior Congress leader Jyotiradiya Scindia’s hands and chop off his tongue if he dares to challenge Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The threat came from Madhya Pradesh BJP leader Radhe Shyam Dhakad, who is also the president of Kirar Seva Samaj. He was speaking at a public meeting in Kolaras in Shivpuri, which is due for by-polls along with Mungaoli in Ashoknagar district — both strongholds of the Scindia family.
A video of the public meeting went viral on Monday.
The BJP leader, while addressing the gathering on Sunday said if Jyotiraditya Scindia poses a challenge to CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, it would imply that he is also challenging the Kirar and Dhakad communities.
CM Shivraj Singh belongs to the Kirar community.
“Agar vo (Scindia) Shivraj ji ke khilaf ungli uthayenge, to hum unke hath tod denge. Agar vo CM ke khilaf bolenge, to hum unki zuban kaat lenge (If he points a finger at the CM, we will break his hands and if he speaks against the CM, we will chop off his tongue),” Dhakad said.
Dhakad had contested the Assembly elections from Raghogarh on a BJP ticket in 2013.
He also raised questions on the Scindia family’s past and Congress’ contribution to the state during its rule.
Shivraj’s son Kartikeya Singh Chouhan, who was campaigning for BJP candidates in the region, was also present at the event.
“Congress does not believe in politics of personal enmity and hatred. Congress President Rahul Gandhi has already instructed us to focus on decency of language,’ Congress spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi said, when asked to comment on the threat.
Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Deepak Vijayvargiya, while pleading ignorance about the speech said that the party will take action against the said leader if he is found guilty.
Interestingly, both the by-poll seats – Kolaras and Mungaoli —are part of Scindia’s bastion, and the BJP, after losing the Chitrakoot by-election, is firing from all quarters to wrest the two seats from Congress and knock out Scindia in his home ground ahead of 2018 assembly elections.
