New Delhi: To catch the attention of young tech-savvy generation, BJP on Thursday announced the launch of "Yuva", an internet TV channel which would telecast programmes, speeches and rallies of the party.
BJP's president Nitin Gadkari who launched the channel website in New Delhi, said "education of the masses was of prime importance".
"We will try to spread the views of our leaders and also that of other people who are busy in doing work for the good of the country. We expect a lot of people will use this channel to get informed by our policies and views,"Gadkari said.
"Speeches of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee would also be telecast to inspire us," Gadkari said.
Gadkari said a small studio had also been created to hold discussions.
"We believe in the need for creating open forums to show- case exemplary work done, projects of Antyodaya and good governance by the party" said Arvind Gupta, Convener National IT Cell, BJP.
Gupta also said it was with the use of IT Cell's internal technology that the channel would be run.
"Debates, conversation and programmes can be telecast on the channel at a scheduled time. This is more than just live web technology which we have been doing for an year,"Gupta added.
YUVA TV would be webcasted between 5 to 7 PM everyday and the programmes would be available at www.yuva4india.tv, BJP said in a statement.
