New Delhi: Mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi over "achche din" (good days) slogan, cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Singh on Sunday said that bad days are about to end as Congress president Rahul Gandhi is set to come to power.
"Bure din jaane wale hain, Rahul Gandhi aane wale hain," said the Punjab minister at Kota in poll-bound Rajasthan.
Further attacking the PM, he said, "Congress gave India four Gandhis — Indira, Rajiv, Sonia and Rahul, but BJP gave the country three Modis — Narendra, Nirav and Lalit." The minister's comment was a veiled attack, terming the three as "thieves".
Sindhu's Sunday remark was an addition to his earlier statement, which created a controversy. The minister had said on Saturday, "Chowkidar ka kutta bhi chor se mil gaya hai (watchman was also on the thief's side)."
Sidhu alleged corruption in the Modi government's deal with France to purchase 36 Rafale military aircraft, a charge repeatedly denied by the Centre. He claimed the plane worth Rs 500 crore was being bought for Rs 1,600 crore. The crowd chanted, chowkidar chor hai (the watchman is a thief).
The minister also claimed that BJP government's 'Make in India' slogan had not yielded results, saying the government had a deal on Rafale with France and on the bullet train with Japan.
Assembly polls will be held in Rajastghan on December 7.
