Ravindra Jadeja's Sister Hopeful Ahead of World Cup: 'He Will Play His Best Cricket for India'
Naynaba Jadeja is hopeful that her brother 'Ravindra will play excellent cricket in this World Cup'.

Ravindra Jadeja’s sister Naynaba Jadeja has shown her faith in the Indian all-rounder, with days leading up to the all-important ICC ODI World Cup. Naynaba reckons her brother is in good form and can put up an enthralling performance on home soil. While speaking to news agency ANI, Naynaba hoped that Jadeja would demonstrate his quality with both the bat and the ball during the World Cup campaign. To give logic to her speculation, the proud sister referred to Jadeja’s performance in the 2023 IPL and the recently concluded Asia Cup.

“I hope that Ravindra will play excellent cricket in this World Cup. He is in great form. From IPL to Asia Cup, he has displayed an excellent all-round performance. I hope that his batting and bowling will be good in the upcoming tournament as well,” Naynaba said.

During the conversation, Naynaba seemed excited to watch Ravindra Jadeja taking the field in the Blue jersey during the home World Cup, no matter his role. The 34-year-old all-rounder has been a regular feature for the India team across all three formats for quite some time now.

Be it with his mystic spin, explosive batting or dynamic fielding, Jadeja is always up to make an impact on any game. Naynaba shared that her brother has worked very hard on his batting and will appear in a better version in the World Cup.

“The way Jadeja has played cricket, there is a lot of hope that in the upcoming ODI World Cup, he will play his best cricket for India. Be it ODI or Test cricket, an all-rounder always performs well. Whenever he gets a chance, whether he is batting at number 7 or number 8, he tries to play his best for the team,” Naynaba explained.

Naynaba also made sure to wish luck to the other members of the Indian squad for the marquee tournament. She thinks India have built a strong side, boasting a number of talented players in both the batting and bowling units.

“I hope that India’s other batsmen and bowlers taking part in this World Cup will be able to perform in the tournament. Our batsmen are in great form and the bowlers are also doing their duty,” she added.

Ravindra Jadeja has played 15 ODIs this year. The Southpaw has accumulated a total of 189 runs with the bat while picking 15 wickets at a bowling average of 31.73. India, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, will begin their World Cup campaign against Australia on October 8.
