With the poll campaigning for the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly and second phase of Chhattisgarh for 70 Assembly seats set to end at 5 pm on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a final vote appeal on X, urging people to pick the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its symbol, lotus (kamal).
The two states will vote on November 17 and the votes will be counted on December 3.
In his post for MP, the PM said, “This time’s campaign for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, rather the campaign to seek blessings from the public, was very special. I went to every corner of the state, met and interacted with many people. The affection that people have for BJP, the faith they have in BJP, is our biggest asset. The women power of Madhya Pradesh is coming forward in this election and raising the flag of BJP. Just as women empowerment is the priority of BJP, similarly women have made the return of BJP government their priority.”
…— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) November 15, 2023
Commenting on the youth, Modi said that “today’s new generation is looking at the next 25 years of India and their own 25 years together”. “And that is why our youth are also coming forward shoulder to shoulder to fulfill the responsibility of bringing the resolution of a developed India to fruition. People have this unwavering belief that only BJP can make Madhya Pradesh a developed Madhya Pradesh of the 21st century. The people of MP are seeing the benefits of double engine government and also understand its need. In the rallies, I also saw how angry the people of MP are with the dynastic politics and negativity of the Congress. Congress has no vision, no roadmap for the development of MP. I urge all the voters of MP to choose BJP for developed MP, for developed India, choose Kamal,” he said.
Elaborating on his campaigning experience in Chhattisgarh, PM Modi said that his “experiences were amazing and unprecedented”. “It is said – Chhattisgarhia…the best. I felt its echo all around. The hardworking people of Chhattisgarh are full of new hopes and new energy to make their state better and the best. They know that if anyone can free Chhattisgarh from the clutches of misgovernance and corruption, it is only BJP. BJP has made it, only BJP will improve it,” he wrote.
“Chhattisgarh is completing its 25 years in the next few years. Today, the youth in the state, who are going to vote for the first time, are moving forward with the dreams of a prosperous Chhattisgarh. Along with the pledge of developed India in the next 25 years, he has also taken the pledge of developed Chhattisgarh. He is aiming to dedicate the next 25 years of his life to the resolve of developed Chhattisgarh-developed India. The way the youth of SC, ST and OBC categories of the state are connecting with our development model is very encouraging. This power of the youth of Chhattisgarh is going to write a new chapter of change. Mahtari of Chhattisgarh, our sisters and daughters have also raised the flag of development of the state. Today, the way India is trying for women empowerment, we can see its impact in Chhattisgarh also. Congress’s crushing defeat in this election is certain. People are trusting the good governance of BJP and not the empty promises of Congress. BJP is determined and committed to fulfill its every resolution. I assure the people of Chhattisgarh that the BJP government coming to the state will be the government of your aspirations and prosperity of the state,” said the PM.
