After the massive success of their film Shershaah – including a National Award – Karan Johar and Sidharth Malhotra are gearing up for the release of their next collaboration, titled Yodha. Since the film was first announced, fans have been eager in anticipation to watch what cinematic wonder Karan and Sidharth have come up with this time. Karan recently spoke about the film at an event.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Karan said, “Oh my God! Yodha was a tough film. When you see the film, and you’ll see the trailer, you will know it was not an easy film because while it has a lot of scale in many parts of the film, there is one chunk of it in which we had to build the entire set of a plane and the action crew was from South Africa and there were multiple cameras and multiple rehearsals. So, there was a lot of prep work done to get it right.”
“Kudos to…they are first-time directors, Sagar and Pushkar, to them, to producer Shashank Khaitan who is producing the film with us, and to Sidharth Malhotra. The work he put in… I think there are really two films which have challenged him (Sidharth Malhotra) physically and emotionally; Shershaah and Yodha. He is delivered in both, and I think all Sidharth Malhotra fans will be very proud of the work he has done in Yodha,” Karan added.
The action thriller, headlined by Sidharth Malhotra, also features Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna in key roles. It is directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha. The joint venture film among Prime Video, Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Films is scheduled to be released in cinemas on December 8 this year.
The film will thus clash at the box office with Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s much-awaited film Merry Christmas.
