“Virat Kohli won at life,” wrote one person sharing a picture of Kohli and Anushka Sharma.

Penning a heartfelt note, this person commented, “Not only picture! True emotions. Even after working hard, there are some things which you don’t get. Sports are cruel sometimes.”

Another called Virat Kohli the greatest of all time (GOAT).

This person felt that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma should now get some free time away from the media’s attention after the conclusion of the World Cup.

Echoing a similar sentiment, one social media person wrote, “Please give them some media-free time. They deserve rest and a break from the limelight. Go, king, we’re here to support you.”

“King Kohli, your performance in this World Cup was truly fantastic! You’ve showcased exceptional skills in this World Cup, truly setting a remarkable standard! All the best for the T20 World Cup,” read another response.

Coming back to on-field developments, Virat Kohli had a stellar outing with the bat at the World Cup as he emerged as the highest scorer of the competition. Kohli registered 765 runs in 11 World Cup matches at an average of 95.62. His strike rate at the World Cup has also been a whopping 90.31. Virat Kohli notched three centuries and six half-centuries in the tournament.

Virat Kohli also broke Sachin Tendulkar’s long-standing record of 49 ODI tons during this World Cup. Kohli was, quite rightfully, adjudged the Player of the Tournament. Despite his brilliance, hosts India failed to lift the prestigious World Cup trophy this time. India had to concede a defeat at the hands of Australia in the World Cup final in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
