The Nawab of Pataudi was one of India’s best captains. He became captain at just 21, leading in 40 out of 46 tests despite losing vision in one eye due to a car crash. Pataudi is remembered for leading India to their first away series win in tests and was honoured as Wisden Cricketer of the Year.
While his son Saif Ali Khan is in showbiz and not sports, he sure does share a good rapport with cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar. The duo was recently spotted at a sporting event and seemed quite friendly with one another. Saif looked dapper as always in a tailored blue blazer paired with a crisp white shirt and beige pants. Sachin looked smart in a printed shirt. In a video that went viral on the internet, the duo could be seen chatting on the sets. They could be seen animatedly talking about bowling skills. Not long back, Saif’s sister, Soha Ali Khan, accompanied by her actor-husband Kunal Kemmu and daughter Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, explored the Melbourne Cricket Ground, during their vacation down under. The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the Melbourne Cricket Ground shared a photo of the trio, highlighting Soha’s visit to the ‘hallowed turf’ where her father, cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, once played. His 75, scored on one leg with one eye, against Australia in Melbourne in 1967-68 as his finest innings. He retired from cricket in 1975 after West Indies’ tour of India.
Saif Ali Khan is currently shooting for his upcoming Telugu film Devara, alongside Jr. NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. Saif plays the antagonist in the film. He will also be seen in a Siddharth Anand action film wherein he will time travel to conduct a rescue operation.
