England managed to bundle out the Indian unit for a cheap total of 80 runs, before successfully chasing down the target in 11.2 overs to seal the three-match T20I series.

The English women’s team wrapped up the three-match T20I series against India as they romped to a 4-wicket win with 57 balls to spare as they took an unassailable 2-0 lead with their win at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday.

England managed to bundle out the Indian unit for a cheap total of 80 runs, before successfully chasing down the target in 11.2 overs.

Team Indian were off to a horrendous start as they lost opener Shefali Verma in the very second delivery of the game for a duck as Charlie Dean picked up her first wicket of the day. Dean doubled her tally as she sent Smriti Mandha back for just 10 runs.

Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur took on the English attack with back-to-back boundaries off Natalie Sciver-Brunt, but the Englishwoman caught the batter out plump in front of the wicket before Deepti Sharma was scalped by Lauren Bell.

Richa Ghosh was dismissed as Sophie Ecclestone pulled off a blinder of a catch off her own bowling for 4 runs before Pooja Vastrakar was castled by Sarah Glenn after having scored 6 runs.

Youngster Shreyanka Patil went for 4 runs off 6 deliveries as Freya Kemp picked up her only wicket of the game.

Jemimah Rodrigues, India’s top scorer on the day with 30 runs to her name was sent back to the hut by Glenn before Bell picked up her second of the day with the dismissal of Titas Sadhu for 2 runs.

Ecclestone cleaned out Saika Ishaque for 8 runs to wrap Indian up for a paltry score of 80 runs.

Chasing the low target of 81 runs, England raced to a good start before Renuka Thakur’s twin strike sent both openers Sophia Dunkley and Dani Wyatt back to the hut at 19 for 2.

However, Sciver-Brunt and Capsey steadied the English chase as they built a partnership that took the game away from the women in blue.

The English pair put up a 41-run stand before Pooja Vastrakar scalped Sciver-Brunt for 16 runs. Capsey was next to go as Amamjot Kaur pulled off a blinder to get rid of the Englishwomen for 25 runs.

Deepti Sharma picked up two wickets in as many deliveries in the 11th over as she got rid of Amy Jones and Freya Kemp.

However, it was too little too late as English skipper Heather Knight and Sophie Ecclestone took their side over the line in 11.2 overs with 4 wickets to spare.
