Priyamani, the Family Man actress, recently sat down for a heartfelt conversation with an entertainment portal. During the interaction, the actress opened up on the battles she fought post her Interfaith wedding with her husband Mustafa Raj while also revealing the challenges caused due to trolls criticising her marriage.
Priyamani, while speaking to Galatta, was asked whether the criticism post her marriage bothered her. In response, she said, “To be honest, it did affect me. Not only me per say but my family also, especially my father and mother. But I have to say my husband stood by me as a rock. He said, ‘Look whatever happens I will let everything come to me first. But all I would say is hold my hand and be with me through every step.” Adding further, she heaped praises on her husband saying, “I am very happy that I got such an understanding and strong partner. He knows how to tackle everything.”
The Jawan actress went on to speak about her parents and noted, “We took care of everything and didn’t let it hinder my parents also. We just asked them to not bother much because it’s us at the end of the day. Their blessings and prayers have taken us a long way.”
Priyamani and Mustafa exchanged rings on May 27, 2016. Later, they tied the nuptial knot on August 23, 2017. Currently, Priyamani is basking in positive reviews for her recently released Maidaan opposite Ajay Devgn. The film released theatrically on April 12, has been directed by Amit Sharma. Based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, the sports drama features Devgn as a determined football coach. Besides Ajay and Priyamani, the film also stars Gajraj Rao and Rudranil Ghosh in the lead roles.
Earlier, Priyamani delivered a notable performance in Yami Gautam’s Article 370, released earlier this year. The film performed well on both critical and commercial parameters. Besides, the actress also raked in positive responses for her role in Jawan, headlined by Shah Rukh Khan. Next, Priyamani will entertain the masses in the third season of The Family Man, starring Manoj Bajpayee, Sharib Hashmi and Sharad Kelkar in the lead roles.
