American actress and comedian Mindy Kaling has revealed the best gift she received on her birthday this year. The writer behind hit shows like The Mindy Project and Netflix’s beloved drama series Never Have I Ever, has finally shared the news of the arrival of her third child, a daughter in February this year. She took to Instagram to make this announcement on her 45th birthday, on June 24, 2024. In her Instagram post, Kaling informed her fans that she had given birth to a baby girl, Anne, earlier this year. “In late February I gave birth to my daughter, Anne. She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined.”
“When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life,” she added. Mindy Kaling further wrote that she feels so lucky to live in a place where she could do this by herself, on her own timeline. She also thanked everyone for all her birthday wishes.
The first photo shows her two children tying in the grass with their newborn sister in the middle. In the second one, Kaling is flaunting her baby bump while the third one is of herself in the hospital bed, seated with her children.

As soon as she shared the news, her fans and followers rushed to the comment section to share congratulatory messages and best wishes for the family. “That’s right mama. These 3 will keep it joyful. Happy birthday,” wrote a fan while another one said, “Amazing! Happy Birthday has a double meaning! Welcome to the world Anne!”
“Congrats and happy birthday Mindy!! So happy for you,” read a comment. “Kids are true love,” added another follower.
Kaling has so far chosen to keep her children’s faces away from social media. “I feel like I might as well wait until they get old enough so they can tell me if they want to be part of my social media or not,” she told PEOPLE. Apart from the newborn Anne, Kaling’s other two children include a six-year-old daughter Katherine and a three-year-old son, Spencer. The actor-comedian is a single mom and has opted not to reveal the identity of the father of her children.
