Yash Raj Films' youth wing Y-Films, which is also the digital wing of the company is remaking Yash Chopra's classic Darr. The film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and Sunny Deol and the web -series will have a fresh cast. Darr 2.0 , a five-part web-series will retain the names of the characters from the original film- Sunil, Kiran and Rahul- but will be set in the present day focusing on today's youth. The five-part series aims to hold a mirror to the perilous environment of online privacy invasion and social media harassment that can take a dangerous and disturbing turn, if unchecked. The teaser of the series was recently released by Y Films, and perfectly highlights the scary sides of social media and online stalking.
It has been directed by Vikas Chandra, who was an associate creative producer on YRF's Detective Byomkesh Bakshy. The series has a story by Nikhil Taneja, with screenplay and dialogues written by Shubham Yogi and Taneja.
