'Spotlight' tweet review: Brilliant performances make this film an enormously accomplished narrative

The much acclaimed biographical drama ‘Spotlight’ is all set to hit the Indian theares today. Directed by Tom McCarthy and written by McCarthy and Josh Singer, the film features Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber and John Slattery in pivotal roles.

Set in Boston, United States, the film is based on the real life stories by ‘The Boston Globe’s ‘Spotlight’ team that earned them the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. It delves deeper into the investigation cases of widespread child sex abuse by Roman Catholic priests.

With numerous awards and nominations to its credit; from Golden Globe Awards to New York Film Critics Circle, this film has already made way to some of the top films’ list this year. The film has also received nominations in Oscars 2016 in the following categories; Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Directing, Film Editing and Screenplay.
