After remaining low-key about their relationship for several years, longtime couple Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal finally got married on June 23 in an intimate ceremony at the actress’s Mumbai residence. They were accompanied by family members and only close friends, witnessing their marital union. Sonakshi and Zaheer dated for seven long years and successfully kept it away from the media and fans. However, their public outings and occasional social media posts left everyone intrigued. Now that they are officially married, the actress is no longer hesitating from showing PDAs on the internet.
Taking a break from their busy lives, the newlyweds are currently enjoying a romantic honeymoon in an unknown destination. Sonakshi also shared pictures with her husband, showing them basking in the moment together.
In a recent post, Sonakshi shared a goofy selfie with Zaheer on her Instagram Stories and revealed how she can finally share posts with all her fans and not just in the “close friends” mode. “Posting this on normal and not “close friends” like the last 7 years hits different. Sorry for the spam,” she wrote.
Well, this hints at how secretive the couple remained in the last seven years. Both dressed in casuals, Sonakshi and Zaheer seem to be at a restaurant. Earlier, the Heeramandi actress dropped a bunch of pictures of her honeymoon getaway. In a few of them, the couple can be seen enjoying a beautiful sunset from the swimming pool.

Earlier in June, the couple got hitched in a civil ceremony by registering their marriage at a small gathering. Keeping it minimalist, Sonakshi and Zaheer opted for matching white coloured outfits. “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each others eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife. Here’s to love, hope and all things beautiful with each other, from now until forever,” they wrote in a joint post.
Later, they hosted a grand star-studded reception party for friends and colleagues from the industry. Several big stars, including her Heeramandi director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and co-stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha and Sharmin Segal, among others, were spotted. Actors like Salman Khan, Kajol, Raveena Tandon and Rekha also attended the wedding reception in the evening.
