In the recent episode of Shark Tank India season three, Aman Gupta got offended by the owners of a jewellery brand after they rejected his offer. Gupta accused them of wasting everyone’s time and argued if such incidents happen repeatedly, he will “stop trusting entrepreneurs."
It all started after the pitchers asked for Rs 8 lakh in return for 1 per cent of their company’s equity. Anupma Mittal argued that he wasn’t sure if the business would be able to increase in the coming years and therefore, he backed out. Namita Thapar followed him. Aman Gupta and Amit Jain made an offer with the pitchers with certain conditions but the owners rejected this.
This offended Aman who then asked, “Aap aaye kyu humara time kharab karne ke liye (Why did you come here to waste our time)?" While Namita tried to calm him down, Gupta continued, “I’m out. You gave such a wonderful pitch, you told your stories so beautifully. You said you wanted to learn, to grow. Now, I’ll stop trusting entrepreneurs when they come on the show. There has to be some seriousness in the way you’re running your business, sorry."
This was not the first time that Aman Gupta was seen getting angry with pitchers. In one of the previous episodes, he bashed the owners of a food brand after they asked him to commit 50 hours of time. “Oh bhai sunn, I know what you are saying but main tereko aise ghante commit nahi kar sakta," he said and explained that he does not want to make false promises.
