Sandeep Reddy Vanga BREAKS Silence on Shocking 'Tweets' By Animal Team: 'I've Got Lot of Abuses'
Sandeep Reddy Vanga has clarified that he doesn't handle the official X account of Animal movie. The director said that there are many 'enthusiasts' in his team.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga is basking in the success of his recent directorial Animal, which grossed over Rs 900 crore worldwide. However, the film has been embroiled in several controversies, from its explicit content to Sandeep’s shocking statements. In his latest interview, Sandeep clarified that contrary to the popular assumption, he is not the one who handles the X (formerly Twitter) account of the movie which goes by the username @AnimalTheFilm.

When Sandeep Reddy Vanga was asked about the several digs taken on Javed Akhtar and Swanand Kirkire by the movie handle, he said that there are many “enthusiasts” in his team and admitted that the tweet for Swanand was “not needed.”

Talking to Siddharth Kannan, Sandeep said, “There are many enthusiasts in our team who handle Twitter. But I knew that those tweets went out. But, there was a tweet for Swanand Kirkire which was not needed. The boys were very energetic in sending messages. I feel sorry for Swanand. The tweet went a little too far. I felt it was on the funny side so it’s okay.”

“That Twitter handle was made for publicity, for sharing posters etc. I don’t know when it converted into this. They felt like they will reply. How are you gong to stop them?” he said.

He further clarified that he was not behind any of the “tweets” shared by the film’s team. “If you want, check my phone. I only have my Twitter account. I don’t have that Twitter account. People think it is Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s language but that is not the case. I have gotten a lot of abuses for it, as if I have tweeted but it’s okay,” he said.

Soon after the release of Animal, Swanand Kirkire had said that films like Animal were taking Indian cinema in a “dangerous and scary” direction. To this, the film’s handle responded on X, “Do not let your knees fall ahead of your toes or cave in towards each other. Keep feet shoulder-width apart to maintain a good base of support for balance. Land softly on the balls of the feet to help absorb the force of the landing. Yes… now it landed perfectly.”
